Hamza al Khateeb is one of the symbols of the Syrian Revolution. At the beginning of 2011 when the people of Dara'a rebelled, Asaad regime forces surrounded the town and no one was allowed to enter or leave. The people of the surrounding villages came out carrying bread and flour with their children and their families and headed towards the city. Assad's forces fired on the unarmed civilians and committed a horrific massacre, arresting tens of men and youngsters including the 13-year old boy, Hamza al Khateeb on April 29, 2011. Later, the child's body was sent to his family with signs of torture and bullets. There were bullets in both his arms and chest. His neck was broken and his genitals had been cut off.

Mujahideen captured 3 strategic spots in the vicinity of Assal Al Ward on the borders with Lebanon, after clashes with regime forces and their Halesh militia. During those clashes many of regime forces and Halesh militia were killed.

Mücahitler Adra'da al Ummaliya'dan rejimin başlattığı şiddetli saldırılar sonrasında çekildi. Mücahitler rejime ait bir miktar zırhlı aracı tahrip ederken dün rejimin buradaki operasyon odası vuruldu ve burada bulunan tüm askerler öldürüldü. Mücahitlerin buradan çekilmesinin sebebi Meliha'daki durumu tekrarlayıp kuşatma altına düşmemek. Çekilen güçler Adra Al Balad'i savunma hattı olarak belirledi. İslami cephe komutanı Abdrurahman el Şami burada kalmakta ısrar etmenin stratejik bir faydası yok ve Ummaliya'da savaşan güçler farklı cephelerde kullanılabilir. / All batallions retreated from Al Ummliya in the city of Adra after a violent campaign by the regime forces during the past days, as rebels destroyed several vehicels and killed many of the regime forces, and destroyed yesterday the regime military operation room killing all officers and soldiers inside. They pulled out from ALUmmaliya to avoid being besieged, and did not want to repeat the Mleha situation, if the regime forces cotrol Adra Al Balad. Thus, batallions were ordered to retreat and make of Adra AL Balad their first line of defense. IF commander Abdel Rahman Al Shamy said that "staying in Adra AL Umaliya does not represent a strategic importance and the forces fighting in Al Ummaliya could be used on other fronts, and we don't say that we have pulled out from Ummaliya but we are moving the military forces for a better use in other areas. Regime forces are attempting to advance in Adra AL Balad but rebels stopped to advance towards new spots.

More than 400 Syrian refugees arrested/ tortured – At least 2 refugees martyred

Lebanese Army invaded several camps in Ersal in Lebanon at 5:00 a.m. in the early morning. The camps invaded include Al Sanabel and War'a Al Jafr where most of the male Syrian refugees were arrested by the army as they set fire to many tents – which are the only shelter for the devastated Syrian refugees – burning them down to ashes and leaving the women and children to the streets. Several individual incidents of arson by the Lebanese army targeted Ra's Al Sarj and Abu Taqeyye camps.
Collectively, up to 448 Syrian refugees – male refugees' ages ranging from minors to elderly – were arrested and severely beat up and tortured. The Lebanese army "stacked" the Syrian refugees near their armoured vehicles, blindfolded, handcuffed, and humiliated them in front of their families. Smoke from the burnt tents led to several cases of suffocation amongst the women, children, and elderly.
